Getting to work

We love our new ward. The people are so nice. Every Sunday after Sacrament meeting we meet with the other missionary couples (four) assigned to the ward and discuss the families we have been assigned to. Our bishop is incredible. He is so aware of the needs of everyone is the ward and as missionaries we discuss the families assigned to us. One of our families are not married, have three children, and are inactive. However. they were very receptive to our visits, and their children and great. They are very respectful and polite. Our visits are good. Last Sunday we went and made out a food order and an order for clothing from DI. When we got there she wasn't home, which was strange because we had made an appointment. In a few minutes she came home, put out her cigarette before getting out of the car and appologized. She had gone to Sacrament meeting, and didn't know the time had changed at the first of the year. As we were leaving, she said she would see us nest Sunday at church. Lynn leaned in and told him he wanted to see him at church too. He said "I'll go to church with you if you go fishing with me!" Now thats a challenge for Lynn. Another family we have is active, but are terrible at budgeting and are always in trouble with their finances. The bishop felt like he wanted to ask Lynn to help him learn to budget before he even knew what he does for a living. Lynn was humbled by the spirit, and is anxious to help. Our first visit with them, he asked Lynn to help him give a blessing to his four year old daughter who was sick. What a blessing for us.
